OSHA is the United states department of labor Occupational safety and health administration. They have to inspect your wire hoist every year to make sure that you and your employees are safe when they are using the wire hoists in your facility.

I would recommend lubricating the entire system every couple months. Also OSHA has to inspect it every year

It's not the unit that you have to worry about for CSA or OSHA. It's how you intend to install it. You have to use the proper installation guidelines as approved by OSHA. I do know that going outside a wall or window you must have the proper bracket/frame installed outside the exterior wall to prevent it from falling on someone's head if high enough. If down low, they still have to be braced/bracketed properly to avoid injury. That's standard procedure.

You need to find out what OSHA has for safety guidelines and restrictions. Also check with your local building code office to check with their pre-set guidelines.
