I recommend you do not use a steam cleaner on laminate flooring. We bought an O'cedar mop and bucket with a built in spinner to get the majority of the water out of the mop. Make sure to push the spinner foot lever a least 6-7 times. If you still have too much water on the floor, spin it more. Don't use harsh cleaners. Murphy's Oil soap is good, but not too much or it will be sticky. I like the O'cedar because the mop can be popped off the handle and washed in the washing machine. It snaps back on easily. The bucket has a handle and a place on the bottom that makes it easier to empty. One note: I pressed the spinner lever too quickly on my first one and after a while the gear stripped. They are not expensive and I've found them at the dollar store and Walmart.
Why not. Laminate floors are very tough. Just make sure that all of the nylon roller wheels are very free turning and that none have anything embedded in them that can cause possible scratching.
