There is an electrical fault that causes the fuse to blow. Maybe a wire has chafed against the metal body and vibrations causes it to short out the fuse. This requires checking the wiring from the instrument cluster to the fuse box for worn insulation etc.

If everything keeps going like that then it sounds like its a problem with the onboard computer. The computer controls all the guages and would explain why they all fail at the same time.

SOURCE: Instrument cluster not working and truck wont go

The 2002 F-250 PStroke 4x4 had the instument lamps poping the fuse intermittently .
Turned out to be a wire getting pinched btween the emergency brake lever and the release stop .
Had to remove the keft kick panel and there was a yellow wire coming from the lower harness up toward the dash . the wire was pinched /hung up in the emergency brake mechanism . Good Luck

I had the same issue with my 2002 F250 7.3 L. The overdrive switch was shorting the circuit due to exposed wires in the steering colum. I replaced the switch and resolved the problem.

SOURCE: 1999 Ford Taurus fuse box

It should use fuse location 22. The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal. Remove the panel cover to access the fuses. To remove a fuse use the fuse puller tool provided in the fuse panel cover.

The black wire is always the ground. Ford used an assortment of color stripped wires for positive.

I have 2001 Ford escape xls, instrument cluster and interior lights stopped working as well as taillights

tell good and bad, not just bad things.!
car starts and runs and drives ok? day time?
dash dimmer turned down, kids played with dads car?
well tail lamps dead (really are up to 10 or more parking lamps dead, is blow fuse or BCM failures.
why not scan the PCM see DTC errors first. save tons of work , if DTCs are there.
cars have 2 or more fuse boxes. cab and bay(engine)
did you check them all?
if car drives, I will say why parks fails. front and rear and sides of cars. are park lamps as are license plate lamps.
the BCM body brain on this car is SJB smart junction box.
SJB Fuse F2 and F3 good
and the HL switch not bad, and park switch there good
the SJB has CPU brain and a park relay
if the CPU sees park turned on it closes the park relay in SJB
there 8 park lamps.all 8 lamps run off fuse F3
so if one lamp works, then F3 is good if all 8 are dead F3 is blown
or the relay is bad.

these words assumes car runs. (engine runs)
and the battery is not dead
nor battery at 10vdc or less.
I check all that and all is covered in the service manual I just read.
for you.

How to replace a 2001 ford escape gearshift light

You will have to replace the light bub within the instrument cluster. First remove the instrument cluster cover (two bolts at the top 7 mm) then remove the 4 bolts securing the cluster to the instrument panel (7 mm) and you should be able to pull out the cluster, disconnect the three wire harnesses with a screwdriver, your light bulb is at bottom, twist to remove your old and twist to install the new.

Good Luck!

Hello, Im a US Marine and dont know alot about automotive but Im not completly numb... My father in-laws 2003 4x4 dodge pick has been blowing fuse #18 which when blown or removed the dash lights go out......

That fuse also supplies illumination to the radio, hvac controller, cup holder and cigarette tray. I think the best thing to do is start unplugging each one of these until the fuse stops blowing. Then plug the last think in that you unplugged to make sure that makes the fuse blow. If you suspect the instrument cluster start with that first.

Instrument cluster bulb is out. how do i replace

It may not be a bulb, as the instrument cluster usually has a number of bulbs and they probably didn't all blow at once. Pulling instrument clusters can be touchy and may not be for the average "shadetree mechanic" however, typically there are a few screws above the cluster going into the dash pad and a few hidden behind the trim panels below the cluster.

Not sure but I advised you before!!
Any way last time!
You have to t/s the moment the fuse blows and elimate the systems (short) connected to that fuse, for sample, dis connect the interior light, install fuse, if it blows than it is NOT the interior light, keep going till you find the short!
