Hello,

This model has a know problem with parts called capacitors shorting out and causing the flashing that you have. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. If you go to our web site at:
www.ccl-la.com and click on the monitor repair section I will post a step by step guide to the repair for you. You will need to replace 2 capacitors and yo should be back running again. Check after 12/09/09 at 2:00pm and the guide should be posted.

I hope this helps, f so please rate our solution.

Dell 1702FP gets off automatically or lose power by itself!

i think the power cord to your monitor is not fixed tightly. check the connections. or else the power On / Off button could have got damaged. replace it with the new one. if still the problem exists, servicing of the monitor will be the solution to it.

have a nice day.

Screen is blank

Those models are made by BenQ. Their notariety is bad solder connections that cause the drive transistors to overheat. Sometimes it just blows fuse pf751(2 amp); other times it will damage a transistor or two (2sc5707 or 5706 x 4).
Be sure to resolder the output transformer leads.

I need power cords for my monitor

The monitor needs a power cord and a signal cable. The power cord is a standard 3-prong detachable cord just like the one on nearly every desktop computer and many other electronic appliances.

The signal cable may be one of two types, depending on your computer's video connector. The monitor has connectors for both VGA (a D-shaped connector with 15 pins) and DVI (a rectangular connector) inputs. You need a cable with whichever type of connector fits your computer.

You should be able to find the power cord at Radio Shack, any of the big office supply places, or retailers who sell computers. The signal cable may be available there as well, or you can order from a number of online vendors.

The monitor also allows you to plug in a USB cable from your computer so you can plug in USB devices like a keyboard or mouse. For that you need the same kind of USB cable you would use to connect a printer.

You can view or download a copy of the monitor user's guide at Dell's site here:

If this solution has been what you need, please take a moment to rate it. Thanks for asking here!

Dell 1702FP 17" shows nothing after Radeon HD 2600 put in.

Is the card plugged into the (PCI/AGP) slot correctly? Did you disable the onboard video in the bios? Also be sure to check in windows device manager and check for the graphics card to appear there.

Dell 1702FP 'tearing' after warmup

It might be a failing electrlytic or a heat-related issue with a transistor in the power supply, or it may be a problem in the video board. Sounds like will need good old-fashioned component-level troubleshooting.
