Maytag Neptune dryer overheating

Dryer got real hot and shut the motor down. I replaced the thermal fuse on the heater element. That worked for about 40 minutes and it overheated again and shut down. Would the high-limit thermostat be the cause?

My maytag neptune dryer keeps blowing the thermal fuse

Overheating is almost always an airflow problem. Check airway before the place the fuse is located and the vent pipe and vent after the fuse to make sure they are open, If the airway is clear, the thermostat may be allowing the heating element to stay turned on until the dryer gets too hot,

Neptune dryer 5500 no power

This dryer has 2 thermal fuses. One next to the control stat on the blower housing and another on the heater element. You could quite possibly have a bad blower wheel or simply a lint build up cauing over heating. To get inside this dryer you remove the door first. The you can remove the front. Once that is removed you can pop the top and get the front shroud off. You cannot work from behind.

My maytag neptune dryer doesn't blow any hot air

on top of the heating element on the left side there is a white 2connector part, that is the heater thermal fuse. disconnect the dryer power cord and one wire of the thermal fuse and use a meter to find out if you have continuity to it. if not replace it. also check for burn wires at heating element. also test heating element by disconnecting one wire and using an ohm meter test it at 2 therminals. it shoul measure 10-12 ohms.

Dryer shuts off after about 10 minutes. Motor feels hot, real hot. I think it is overheating and shutting off. The lower the setting the longer it will run. Is it the Thermal fuse or thermostat?

There might be a problem with the bushing of the dryer motor that causes the rotor to become shorted with the magnetic field and that's the reason why it becomes too hot. It is also the reason why the thermostat shuts off the motor when it becomes too hot to avoid overheating. Replace the bushing of your motor.

Only buzzes when trying to start my LDE7304ACE Maytag electric dryer. the drum spins freely.

Verify and indicate in which part where the buzz is coming from. It's the timer motor if it's coming from behind the timer knob; otherwise, it is the dryer motor at the base of the dryer.

The drum belt has slipped off if the dryer motor is the one that buzzes and the dryer blows out hot air. Otherwise, the dryer motor (part number Y303358) is stuck; replace it.

Check the continuity of thermal fuses, one on the blower housing and one on the heater enclosure, if the buzzing sound is coming from the timer motor. These thermal fuses are wired in series with the dryer motor and will make it inoperable should any of the thermal fuses fail. Replace also the cycling thermostat should the thermal fuse (part number 306604) on the blower housing has failed and the high-limit thermostat should the thermal fuse (part number 307473) on the heater enclosure has failed.

Maytag electric dryer keeps shutting off.Dryer gets hot. Repairman replaced the motor but still having the same problem.Could it be a sensor?

Generally if the motor shuts off it is because of the overprotector on the motor opening up to save the motor. When the motor cools down the overload will close and the motor will work again.

If the unit is getting so warm the motor is shutting off check to make sure the rollers are working properly and moving freely.

Maytag dryer not starting

You must replace the hi limit thermostat and the thermal fuse.
They come as a set and must both be replaced.
They are located on the heating element.
