Accumulation of water in bottom of fridge

Hi,

I have a Frigidaire Gallery FRT21NGJ top freezer refrigerator. (no ice maker or water dispenser) Water accumulates in the bottom of the fridge under the produce bins and once it reaches capacity, leaks all over the floor. There is a little dispenser at the back of the fridge, just under the freezer. It looks like some type of overflow, however, it is always full and the water is always frozen. I am not sure if the leak may be coming from there - I don't actually see anything dripping.

Any ideas as to why this is happening or what parts I may need to replace? Any suggiestions/ideas most welcome!

Thanks,
Ang

You probably need a new door deal for the freezer. When you cet too much condensation in the freezer, it drains down the back of the refrigerator section during the defrost cycle. Check under the produce bins for a drain. If you don't have one, you're not alone. I used to have have to wipe mine out every other day until I finally replaced the seal.

I have a 16 year old Frigidaire Gallery Side by Side FRS20ZSH fridge/Freezer. We get water to the filter but not to the door dispenser or the automatic ice maker. Help please?

this could be one or two problems :
fridge door that dispenser is in is not shutting all the way any longer and the safety switch is not allowing anything to come out of dispenser , or the valves in the bottom of fridge are bad (16 years it's time to go too) these valves are not expensive and not hard to replace , just remember to turn water supply off 1st see your local or internet parts supplier to obtain them

Water puddle on floor from inside refrigerator could it be defrost heateris bad? water accumulates in the bottom of freezer and freezes seems to come out of evaporator/fan location

unkink the drain hose...I just opened up the back of my Frigidaire Side by Side counter depth to find the drain hose was bent and collapsed coming right out of the bottom of the freezer and the pan was dry as a bone. It doesn't look like my drain hose has ever drained a drop of water. The freezer bottom is full of ice And the rust and chipping paint under the bottom of the freezer door along with the mysterious puddles of water every morning means the drain system definetely never worked. Frigidaire should be responsible for this. This, along with the ice maker rebuild I had to do,... after ice was spilling all through the fridge. I actually had warrantty left on that one and called customer support in India to find out I could make the repair myself. Yep I had to do it. Frigidaire you failed.

Frigidaire Gallery Professionaly series broken ice maker

If you hook up the water to the fridge, that means you connected the water line to the 'Water Inlet Valve' of the machine. There should be a two wire harness connected to the water valve back. Look for that....

But please note following...

Some water valves in fridges are complicated with one harness for water dispenser line valve and another harness for ice maker water line.

Also seeing a disconnected wire harness does not mean it is for the water valve. May be most likely. But be careful sometime there are test wire harness for technicians to get power readings for components.

Water dispenser inside fridge and ice maker in freezer part in bottom both quit working.

There can be many reasons for no water supply. Line feeding the refrigerator is clogged or blocked. The water control valve that turns water to ice maker and dispenser is defective or the water filter located inside your refrigerator is in need of change. I will be here to help you go through the steps. Let me know when you are ready, Thanks, Sea Breeze

There is a water leak inside the freezer

You need to remove the bottom two baskets, or more to make space. Using a hairdryer, defrost the back area. You should be able to locate a drain hole in the center below the freezer coils. This drain hole is connected on the outside to a drainpipe which has a p trap and often gets blocked up. You need to force water down the drain hole. You can use a turkey baster or similar type of plunger filled with water. Once you have cleared the blockage pour hot water till it runs freely. Hope this sorts your problem, don't forget to rate me.
