This kind of tv u must have cable or satalite tvs pay broadcasting signal cable,so u have a box .Tv have HDMI ports or RCA AV component cable input?The incomming broadcating tv signal go to the cable or satalite boxes.Than u use a HDMI cable or RCA AV component cable go through those boxes than to ur tv HDMI input ports or RCA AV component cable input holes.

Hi I have a LG RZ42px11 there are 6 vertical thick black lines running down the middle off the screen, when cold the TV seems OK but if it has been on for around 10mins or on standby the lines stay on screen.

just need the right cable. Look into getting a VGA-HDMI cable

your hd box might only output in 1080i. are you useing an hdmi cable? if not that might also be your problem.

If tv has hdmi input you can otherwise component aav input is the best,

I do not know who was helping you before but the problem you are having can be caused by three boards in the tv each by themselves or in combination. Those are the control board with part#6871QCH053G, the Y- board part #6871QYH036D or the Z-board part#6871QZH041B. Without being able to do voltage and signal measurements directly for you, the Z-board is likely the culprit here. But I will tell you that even experienced tv technicians find themselves swapping one or more of the boards until they fix the problem. I am assuming here of course that you have not had problems with your tv before. The part #s I have given you are for the improved boards that LG has assembled to take care of future similar problems and come with their latest training manual for technicians. there is no cable slot. the monitor is not a receiver. it has no tuner in it. it will need a signal from a tuner box. and that must be fed to the tv with an hdmi cable or a dvid cable for hd to work. see your manual for further information on cables. see your cable supplier for information on hd boxes available in your area. if you do not buy hd service, you will not get an hd signal. so you will see little difference from a non hd device. your dvd player may have hd capabilities, but will also need the same cable to deliver true hd signal.
the good news is that its fixable by using the right equipment.
