Color won't print - Deskjet F4210

I normally just print with a black toner cartridge but now I need to print w/color also - I have tried 2 different color cartridges, have aligned the cartridges numerous times and cleaned the pinheads - the color still won't print. I changed to color under 'Printer Properties' - is there anywhere else I need to change to color? Do you know what else could be the problem?

Thanks - that's great since I haven't used the color cartridge since I've had the printer and now that I need it I'm having problems with it - I may have to think twice about the kind of printer I buy this time.

SOURCE: my deskjet 5550 printer stopped printing in color

If the Cartridge and printer alignment is successfull and you are still not able to print in color, mostly the Color print is disabled in your pc

Click on START Button
Click on CONTROL PANEL
Open Printers and Faxes folder
Highlight the Printer icon for Deskjet
Right click on the printer icon and choose Printing Preferences
Under Printing preferences, you will find Printing mode - It must be on BLACK or GREY SCALE, Change to COLOR/ ALL
try printing.

SOURCE: Won't print black, just color

1. Turn the unit on and open the lid or top cover.
2. Remove the cartridges.
3. Using a clean, dry lint-free cloth (a coffee filter works well),
wipe the cartridge contacts, from the top to the bottom. The contact
area of the cartridge should be rubbed briskly to remove the waxy
lubricant material from the gold contacts.
4. The contacts inside the printer may also require cleaning. Using a
clean, dry, lint-free cloth, 5. gently wipe the contacts, from the
top to the bottom.
5. Re-insert the cartridges and close the printer's top cover.

Do not use refilled cartridge.
Thanks

SOURCE: hp psc 750 won't print with new color ink cartridge

To solve the printing problem..

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

HP 722C has quit printing black in color draft

WORKAROUND: Select EconoFast or Draft as the print quality setting in the printer properties. This will prevent the color cartridge from being used. - Or - Try another color cartridge. The color cartridge is used to print grayscale images in Normal or Best print modes, so if one color has run out, the printout will have the wrong tint. With a full color cartridge, the colors can be properly combined to create a composite black. CAUSE: When printing with Normal or Best as the print quality setting, the HP Deskjet 710C or 720C or 722C series printer will use the color ink to improve print quality output, even when printing a grayscale image.

Black in coming out grey

Ensure that cartridge are not refilled, then only you do the following process:>Got to printer properties>printing preferences>color>select print in grey scale>apply>OK.. Then check..Reason why its act like this: In printer properties if its selected as print in color, printer mixes colors to create black(which is visible look like dark grey).Select in properties as above said before clicking OK for the print command, then only printer uses mono cartridge..

This model printer has only two slots for ink cartridges. One is for a black ink cartrigde and the other is for a tri-color cartridge which contains cyan, magenta and yellow inks.
This tri-color cartridge has run out of yellow ink, you need to replace this tri-color cartridge.

HP Color Laser Jet CP1215: won't print at all since magenta is out. I changed printer to grayscale but just keeps blinking the magenta sing and the traiangle with ! sign next to it

I know the frustration being in IT for over 20 years working on various peripherals.
These printer MIX so that way there is a balance at the final phase. You have to purchase a magenta cartridge to get this working again. Bypassing this will make tis printer suffer and long term damage can cause a economical issue on your end in the long run.
Now if your at a critical point you can bypass but I do not professionally recommend this but here it goes.

1. Open the CP1210 Series Toolbox 2. OPEN System Settings 3. Then enable Cartridge Out Override 4. Then click apply
I hope this works for you, whilst you purchase a magenta toner. Please do not forget to leave a positive rating and feedback.

Caution lite flashing over cartridge of hp deskjet 940c. error message says that there is not color ink cartridge in printer. There is and the interface says the tank is full. It won't print...

Even though the interface says the cartridge is full, if the printer detects it being empty, odds are you will have to replace the color cartridge, even though you are only printing black.
You can try taking the cartridge out and cleaning the contacts with a pencil eraser and reseat the color cartridge. If no change, replace the cartridge.

Installed new black cartridge in Deskjet 810C printer and after doing this it will only print in pink color. Please help.

Make certain that the cover is off the jets - if you forgot to pull the strip off or it broke leaving part of the tape on the cartridge, it won't work. Try to do a clean process on the cartridge. If that doesn't work, and you don't have another printer to try the cartridge in, return it to the place you bought it and get another new one. If the printer is printing pink, the color cartridge is probably empty also so that it cannot make black from the other colors. These sound like refilled cartridges - OEMs would have failed with some form of error code or warning.

After installing re-filled ink cartridges, both color and back & white, the printer message that shows ink level still shows low level ink? How do we resolve?

Hello,

Try this procedure:
1. Open printer lid so cartridges move to center of carriage.
2. Lift clamp and remove black or color cartridge from the holder.
3. Place cartridge on table with copper contact strip facing you.
4. Carefully place a strip of clear plastic tape over the four contacts on the upper left corner of the cartridge.
5. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position.
6. Open lid and remove cartridge again. Remove tape from left side and place tape over four contacts at upper right corner of cartridge.
7. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position again.
8. Open lid again, remove cartridge, remove tape.
9. Reinstall cartridge and close lid.
Printer will now recalibrate. Once the process is complete the ink level meter should be reading full again.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

HP DeskJet F4210 printer. Tricolour light flashing. Checked HP manual for info. Checked door, seating, even replaced colour cartridge, still flashing. Other causes?

Try with another tri color cartridge, if that works fine, then the previous cartridge was faulty and if that does not work, printer is faulty, so, service the printer ..
