Question about Franklin FWC100 Wine Cooler

1 Answer

Doesn't cool Love this machine. Works great. Have had it for 6 years. Now it has a problem. The lights and fan work, and the temperature settings work. It behaves like either the freon is low (I don't hear the compressor starting), or whatever causes the compressor to start is crippled... Fuse looks good, nothing visibly burned on the motherboard, haven't opened the bottom. Disconnected electricity, restarted, it didn't help.

You have troubleshot this thing well. You may have a capacitor problem or starter problem. It will not be design let the unit come on. This is all to protect the expensive compressor.

SOURCE: Hello. I have a Franklin

Hi,
Yes, what you have is a refrigeration problem....
The refrigerant system has probably developed a leak and so now it will cool a bit, but not get cold.
To fix this it would require the system to be evacuated, the leak found and fix and then the system recharged...doing this may cost more then it is worth.

Many timesa freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condensercoil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Temperature gage goes up and down

The breather hose should run to the air cleaner housing or intake tube.
Check your radiator cooling fan. If it isn't working the car will run hot at slow speeds or idle then cool down after you get going faster. A quick check would be to turn the AC on and see if the fan comes on. If not try lightly tapping on the cooling fan motor with a wooden broom handle. If it comes on then you have a bad motor.
If the fan comes on with the AC then check to see if the fan comes on after the engine gets hot. If the engine temp doesn't kick it on then the temperature sensor might be bad.
If the fan is ok please post more info on your problem

You need to find out the fault code that is stored that is causing the check engine light, the whole thing may be related to one failed part like the temperature sensor or the wiring to it.

Why would the cooling fan not be working in a 2005 crown vic CVPI

Does it work when you turn the A/C on? The fan always kicks on with the A/C, if it doesn't look for a blown fuse. Or possibly a fan motor burnt up. If it works with the A/C but doesn't when the engine is too warm, it is probably the temperature sensor.

The alarm in our Franklin Chef model FWC100 wine cooler keeps going off even though everything stays cool so we want to know how to turn off the alarm or cut the wire to the alarm. Thanks.

You describe a typical 'cooling fan' problem. When moving through the air, the AC operates normally, but when stopped in traffic, it doesn't... correct?

AIR DOES NOT SEEM TO BE COOL ENOUGH LAST YEAR HAD SERVICE COME AND PUT FREEON IN

hi,
If the the AC doesn't get the cooling then the main reason will lack of freon gas.
Is the fan works perfectly. Also check the fan is it working perfectly. If the fan is ok then you have to refill the freon gas again.
ok
