Locked on heat dry setting

This is model KUDE70VSS2. It is stuck on the heat dry setting and when I push any other button the heat dry button light blinks and the other buttons don't respond. It seems to be locked on this setting. The word lock is actually on the button which makes me wonder if there is a way to unlock it.

Could the model number actually be KUDE70CVSS2? All of the Kitchenaid dishwashers listed on their site have 4 letters between the numbers.

If this is the right model, then the Heat Dry/Lock is probably indicating the Control Lock is active. Hold the Heat Dry button for at least 4 seconds. The Control Lock which prevents anyone from changing or starting the dishwasher by accident; press and hold for 4+ seconds to toggle it on and off. You can find the manual for most Kitchenaid appliances through their support site: https://www.kitchenaid.com/customer-service/manuals/ . The direct link to the owner's manual for the KUDE70CVSS2 is https://www.kitchenaid.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/User%20Instructions%20-%20W10208709.pdf . The use of the Control Lock feature is on page 5 of the manual.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for using FixYa. To resolve this issue try to press and hold the NO HEAT DRY/Air DRY button for 15-20 seconds, if this won’t resolve the issue then you’ll have to replace the control panel. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

SOURCE: Can't get the lock on button to go off by pushing

Hi

First make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump assembly located inside the lower front panel of the dishwasher. If the issue returns after its cleaned then try to reset the dishwasher control by pressing the NO HEAT DRY button and hold it for 35 seconds, if its still not resolved then it means that the control board has gone bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Start button blinks

It sounds like you have the child-lock or control-lock function turned on. To turn it off, just press and hold the Heat (or Heated Dry) button for 4 or 5 seconds. That should unlock you dishwasehr and you can now use it normally.

Why won't my Kenmore dishwasher display work properly?

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Heating Element

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element might have burned out. The heating element heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Why are lights flashing on my dishwasher's control panel?

There is a button configuration that you can press to make the unit reset on some you would close the door and push normal wash heated dry then normal wash then heated dry on others it would the econo wash button then heated dry then the econo/ heated dry this pattern starts the unit and then puts it into the drain cycle and resets the control which allows you to start washing again. If you can name off all the buttons you have I can tell you exactly which ones to perform this reset in the unit. I await your reply
Rick
p.s this also happens on whirlpool models as well right after the warranty runs out so you end up paying the high service charge for a tech to walk in you door push a few buttons then collect a fee over 169.00 which is ridiculous.

The control panel is flashing a L. What does this mean?

Hi.

The model indicated: MDB5651A does not have display and the error codes are shown like flashing lights. If that is your model and problem please just tell me what lights are flashing.

In Maytag with display instead, the L on display means that the machine is control locked. That is not an error message, but a code telling that the machine has been locked by the user (probably by mistake since you are the user).

I quote from Maytag technical documentation:

? If a cycle or option pad is pressed after the controls have been locked, the indicator light next to lock graphic will flash five times. On selected models with a countdown display, the display will flash the symbol "L" simultaneously with lock indicator.

? This option does not lock the door, only the dishwasher controls.

To set :
1. Press the Heated Dry pad for three seconds.
2. An indicator light next to the lock graphic will illuminate when the controls are locked.

To Cancel Control Lock:
1. Press the Heated Dry pad for three seconds.
2. The indicator light will go off as instructed.

Try pressing the the Heated Dry pad for three seconds. If that doesn't work disconnect power. Connect back and try again unlock (power off does not remove the lock). If that still does not work there may be a faulty part. In that case turn appliance off and give me the full model number.

Start holding down the Heated Dry pad for three seconds. In normal conditions that is enough to get rid of the L and of control lock.

If you need parts or schematics see this tip explaining how to find parts and diagrams for most appliances: Where do I find parts and diagrams for my appliance?

Regards.

Kenmore dishwasher ultra was quiet guard 3 model 56516012403 control panel will not activate red lights blinking on normal wash and cancel drain. did the hold the heat dry button then the normal wash...

that would be model # 66516012403 correct??
you may have inadvertently set the lock on function..
check this out from your manual...

Lock On
Use the Lock On to prevent unintended use of the dishwasher
between cycles. You can also use the lock feature to prevent
unintended cycle or option changes during a cycle.
When LOCK ON is lit, all buttons are disabled.
NOTE: The dishwasher door can be opened while the controls
are locked. However, the lock must be turned off and the Start/
Resume button pressed to resume the cycle.
To turn on the Lock
Press and hold HEATED DRY for 4 seconds. LOCK ON glows.
If you press any pad while your dishwasher is locked, the light
flashes 3 times.
NOTE: If the Heated Dry option is selected, the light will
temporarily turn off until Lock On glows.
To turn off the Lock
Press and hold HEATED DRY for 4 seconds. The light turns off.

hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn
