Problems getting a RCA universal remote to work for Prima tv/dvd
I just bought a universal RCA remote and it works okay for the tv function, but will not work on the dvd function. I've tried the code search for the tv part (worked) and dvd (did not work) Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong??? The Prima is one of those combo tv sets with a dvd attached. Daughter lost original remote and I need NEED this to get through all the Disney promos! Thanks so much!

You can use code search on your RCA remote control to find something that handles some or all functions. If a search through all codes stored in your RCA remote control fails, you may have to try a different universal remote control. All universal remote controls do not contain all possible codes.
Two possible codes are 000 and 181. If neither works, use code search on your RCA remote to find something that does work and controls some or all functions of your Proscan unit. If a search through all codes stored in the remote fails, you may gave to try a different universal remote. All universal remotes do not store all possible codes.
Use the CODE SEARCH feature of your RCA remote to find codes to control some or all functions of your devices. Press CODE SEARCH-TV, for example, to find a code for your TV. If a search through all codes stored in the remote fails, you may have to try a different universal remote. All universal remotes do not store all possible codes.
One 3-digit code that might work is 026.
Your universal RCA remote has a code search function which you can use to find a code that will control your Funai DVD player. If a search through all codes stored in the remote produces no result, you may have to try another universal remote to find a code that will work.
You don't say whether you tried using the code search function to find something that works. As for the lack of a "sound system" button, you should be able to select any button other than TV to find a code.
hello! "Element" codes could be: Polaroid, MAG, LG, Vizio. Have you tried "code search" mode on universal remote? If you won't find the luck of those "brands" I suggested, do "code search". Refer to remote's owners manual. I did the same for myself: obtained RCA convertor box, without remote, RCA codes won't work, RCA is out of TV business. By using "code search" I made it work. Then, you may want to do "code retrieval" option, to know the correct code. good luck, Alex.
Yippie, I figured out a solution that worked!!! I have a univeral remote from comcast, on that remote near the bottom left is a small button that says (input) tv/vcr, press that one time and whala!! the tv video screen was gone, I had to manually change the channel from the tv channel button on the unit. once I changed the channel to 3, my universal remote worked... the button is the second one from the bottom left... I was on hold with sanyo for a long time and just kept trying on my own, so good luck!!!!
I finally found a code that works. Code 3144 worked. I am using the RCA universal remote control RCR412S and RCA DVD player DRC200N. The code 3144 is listed under Memorex in the code book that came with the remote control.
