Copy and paste

Thanks for posting your question here at fixya! ;)
You must select text (or some item in the document or content you are working with) to turn on the menu item you wish to use. On the keyboard, the keyboard shortcut for copy is ctrl+c, and the shortcut for paste is ctrl+v. After copying the item you wish to paste, (you may want to click into the area you wish to paste) use the ctrl+v to finish the paste function.

Unlock keypad

Create a shortcut

Open the folder or directory that contains the program you wish to create a shortcut for.

Right-click on the program and click Create Shortcut.

This will create a shortcut named "Shortcut to <your program> in the directory you are in. If you wish to rename this shortcut, right-click the file and click rename.

Once the above steps have been completed, you can copy or cut this shortcut and paste it anywhere to execute this program.

Assign shortcut key to that Windows shortcut

Once the shortcut has been created to assign a shortcut key to that Windows shortcut follow the below steps.

Right-click the shortcut and click Properties.

Click the Shortcut tab.

Click in the Shortcut key box and press a letter. For example, if you press "p" the shortcut key will automatically be made Ctrl + Alt + P. Which means if saved when pressing Ctrland Alt and "P" all at the same time will run that shortcut.

I want to cut and paste some parts of and article and put it into one document. How do I find the cut and paste buttons to do this?

General copy + paste shortcuts are
Ctrl + C for copy Ctrl + V for paste Ctr + X for cut
In your source document, highlight the piece of text you want to copy -- click and drag over the text -- hit Ctrl + C, or Edit -> Copy
Move to your destination document, where you wish to paste your quotations, and hit Ctrl + V, or Edit -> Paste

My file became a shortcut icon in external hard disk

That's because you probably hit "copy shortcut" rather than "copy". Go back to your file and hit Ctrl-C then once you're back in your external folder hit Ctrl-V. That will copy and paste it.
