XM Radio - Factory installed reciever - NO SOUND

2006 GMC 3500. DVD, CD, AM/FM, all sound incredible. Subscribed to xm and did everything they said - set to preview channel for 15 minutes while truck sat in one spot. All the stations programed in perfectly, can see what songs are playing, etc... Problem is that there is no sound whatsoever. It is like it is dead. Can swith over to CD or radio and everything is great. Called XM and they said it is a factory/dealer issue. Any thoughts??
Thank you. AARON
Never had any sound on the preview channel at all from the time we got the truck and now no sound on any of the xm channels.

SOURCE: xm will not work

i understand that you're only getting preview channels..and had the radio for almost 3 years....yes, they might be correct that your radio was broken already...but, have you ever asked them to refresh the signal into your radio? If you want you can do it online at www.refresh.xmradio.com all you to do is to key in your 8-digit radio i.d(can be found on ch. 0) then click submit...it'll give u the activation instructions...that u need to follow faithfully..if this won't work..i'll get back to you next week..Godbless!

SOURCE: xm radio installation in house

hi there..this will be like a walk in a park...first, in your home kit you should be having the ff: antenna, rca cable(audio cables), power adapter & docking station. We just have to 'placed the radio into the docking station' then we just have to plug in the ff cables into the xm receiver..we can start plugging in the rca cable(one ended connector) into the ' audio out ' of your xm radio...the other ends of the rca cables should be plug in into the 'audio in'(at the back/infront of your sound system)...plug in the antenna in the 'antenna out' of your xm( the antenna should be placed into a south facing window and not being block by tall trees and buildings outside)....plug in the power source and turn on the radio....if you got it right you should now be getting the prev.channels/emergency allerts...u can call xm to send a refresh for you to get the complete channels..or you can do it online by logging into www.refresh.xmradio.com(if the radio was already activated) if not, you have to call xm radio to activate it..enjoy listening to xm..Godbless..

Premium Bose XM/AM/FM/CD/Radio in 2004 GMC Envoy XUV has no sound. First the AM/FM quit working like the unit did not see an antenna. I had the body control module re-flashed which fixed my speedometer,...

You should be seeing BCM trouble codes (DTCs) for the radio with a code reader. I am assuming you are hearing something (noise) from the speakers with the radio on. If so, you may have lost the programming in the radio - you could try re-flashing it. However, that radio has a number of memory locations that are set whenever the radio is turned on - one or more memory modules in the radio may now be faulty.

XM Radio in 2008 Hyundai Sonata sounds bad

Same problem here. I repeatedly complained to XM but got no reply. I listen to XM in 2009 Sonata and it was just as bad.

XM is better than AM. Much worse than FM.

The factory xm volume to low in 2006 corvette

Separate 'plug and play' XM radios, like the one pictured above, have a "MENU" setup, and you can adjust the "Audio Level" in that menu setting. See if you can access an XM menu. You can also ask your question over at XM411.com or XMfan.com; both are 'fan' websites.
Good luck - nice car too!

Poor cound quality

does the XM use a radio station for recieving the sound or is it wired in to the vehicle. if you have to set a radio station so you can use the XM then what you can do it set the station to some other channel. it maybe to close to a real radio station or the frequency it to weak and you'll need a stronger signal

Do you have to run in AUX to get XM Radio? Your receiver and unit sound like its ok. This could be a problem with your provider. Contact your provider and their tech dept can help you organise a solution. Is your radio, XM ready?

XM reciever FM transmitter problem

hi Mr.Frazier....is the xm radio hardwired installed? if it's a yes you have to go to a professional(bestbuy, retailers) to have the connection check.. the problem is not within the xm radio..it's on how it was installed or set up...

If the radio was not built..well, that's much better we just have to check the audio connection from you're xm to fm radio (make sure to check if what band it is connected..such as AUX,CD etc.) if there's a sound but you're only getting preview channels..refresh must be send on the radio...you can call xm to ask for that OR do it online at www.refresh.xmradio.com and type in your 8 digit radio I.D just have to follow the activation instruction faithfully...Godbless!
