Question about RCA 32V550T 32" TV

No picture hello I found an rca 32" sdtv on the dump cause my neighbors got thrown out and the apartment complex put there stuff at the dumpster. i can turn on the power button but no sound or picture is this fixable and worth getting it fixed?

I would pull the cover off to see if the tube and the board on the CRT are not damaged. If it looks ok, turn set on and observe if there is any activity visible at the neck of the CRT (light). Wehn a set with a large tube starts-up, it wil make a fuzzt crackle noise fro the high voltage charge in the tube. If non of this is happening, check main board for cracks. Unit is probably salvageable for point to point solder job, but as far aspart replacement for HV power supply, I would not do it. It is not cost effective.

I had same problem with no steam... ready to throw in the dumpster!
I tried to it take apart. (kind of hard) still ready to throw it!
Then I thought about CLR!
I put about 1/2 cup in, turned on and let set for about 20 to 30 minutes.
I really did not think this would work but... Amazing! I actually got STEAM!!!!!!
Next I dumped out what was left, put in distilled water and ran for another 30 minutes on high.
Will use CLR again before final clean out and 2 full tanks of distilled water before I use again.

Take the bike to your local bike shop, they will be able to assess what the bike will need. Most likely though there is a good reason that it was in the dumpster and the cost will be much higher than you want to spend.

HELLO

I have heard of this before! I understand the de-gauss circuit has somehow "misfired" and caused a problem. Try switching the TV off for 30 minutes and switch it back on again after this time. If it has not gone in a couple of days then you need to contact a service centre in your locality.

It's likely the POSISTOR has may have failed (a common thing in CRT televisions).

You probably have a bad flyback transformer. This is a common problem for this set. A 32" is worth a check out fee.

Tv broken?
Yes your set can be fixed ,it may have shorted your hori out put transistor and also caused FBT to blow. Flyback Transfomer cost 150.00 up, to 175.00
