I need a disassembly guide for the HP 1040 FAX (or 1010)

I am usually pretty good at figuring out how to take things apart but this one has my stalled. So far I have removed two screws from the back and two from the top-front. I have pried open the snap fittings that I can find but....

I have a 1010 too which is almost identical in construction so directions for either should do.

Thanks, but this is about the HP 1040 FAX and 1010 FAX, not the HP 1010 Laser Printer.

I have HP 1010 manual here : HP LaserJet 1010/1012/1015 Series Printer Service Manual

I do not have 1040, I have cleaning instructions for HP1040, if the printhead looks tuck, then clean the encoder strip, see cleaning instructions here.

I have one..
There is no fuse..
Try unplugging it for a few hours & see if it clears it..
However it doesnt sound good..
Yea - 220 probably jacked it pretty good..
Probably blew the power suply inside & maybe a few other things..
The cost of parts to fix it will buy a new one..

Fax

Hi,

Often, this type of problem is caused by the paper sensor which is nothing but a small switch activated with the presence of the paper(s) pressing on it, It would look like a small tab/lever that would move (to activate the switch) by the paper pushing against it. You would have to inspect this lever/switch and determine if it would move freely. It is very rare for the actual switch to go bad, often it would be just the tab/lever not depressing deep enough to engage said switch.

Hope that this beof initial idea/help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
