Lighting
Lighting is a common cause of strange webcam colors. When your webcam does not have enough light, it compensates by adjusting settings internally. The adjustments can result in color shifts that are not true to life. Bright, diffuse lighting reduces the workload on your webcam and allows it to display colors as they are. The light source should be behind the computer and pointed at your face to reduce shadowing and provide an even light. Changing the settings while watching a preview webcam image can help you fix odd colors on the display. When your drivers are corrupt or out of date, they can affect even the most basic display abilities. If an effect was enabled during the last session, it may stay on when the camera is turned on again. Turning the effects off will usually resolve the problem.
