Side by side whirlpool fridge/freezer

We needed to replace the filter on our fridge as the display was showing F1%. We replaced the filter last night. This symbol had been showing for some time. When we replaced the filter it is still showing F1% and has not changed to F99%. What is the problem?

You need to press the ok button for 3 seconds.

Had the same problem with f01% changed filter , still same reading , pressed ok for 3 seconds and hey presto it worked

HI,
You may have a failing door switch which is causing this problem, if you remove the bulb and close the door, the the red light out? If so, its possible you bulb is fine, you door switch has failed.

We have a 25.4 cubic Whirlpool side-by-side fridge/freezer stainless steel look. Since the last 2 weeks....the display lights showing temperatures in fridge and freezer the front water/ice dispenser unit...

the clicking is from the lamp relay which makes the lights flicker and its located on the units rear area in the back,without a model number i cant tell what this boards model number is but you need to replace this whole board as they are non repairable(this is usually caused by a power surge or outage,which can destroy these boards,also even if a lamp in the unit burns out this can destroy this board too)

I have a whirlpool side by side fridge with water dispensor and ice maker. The light is on that the filter needs replacing but I can't find it. Where is the filter located?

For most side by side refrigerators, the filter is in the grill at the bottom in the center (approximately) of the freezer side. Just push in on the cover over the filter (it is a circular piece).

For exact information, you need to provide the model. Many Whirlpool appliance manuals are available here: http://www.whirlpool.com/custserv/index.jsp . Type in the model in the Manuals & Literature box.

Removing a water filter from the base grill of your Whirlpool brand refrigerator:

Removing and replacing a water filter - base grill location

Filters situated in the base grill (below the freezer compartment) of Whirlpool-built side-by-side refrigerators are relatively simple to replace. Follow these two steps:

Grasp the filter's end and make a one-quarter turn to the left.
Pull the filter straight out.

To replace with a new filter, repeat these two steps in the opposite order, making sure to first remove the red cap from the filter. Proceed by pushing the filter straight into the slot, and then giving it a one quarter turn to the right.
Note: Replacing this type of filter is quick - there is no need to unplug your refrigerator when replacing it. Also, this filter should be replaced every six months.

Filter changed but still 1% on display panel

Is this a side by side fridge freezer? Most Whirlpool models with LCD display on front- reset filter indicator to display 99% by pressing and holding 'OK' button until filter resets to 99%. If you have a different model, or of this doesn't work, advise on model number and I can instruct further

I had probably the same problem. After a little discussion with the factory they sent a technician as a "Good Will Gesture." The technician told me it was the control board down by the compressor. I overheard a conversation between he and his central repair office that it was a common problem. The factory would not admit it. I have a feeling the electronic control board he replace (which would have cost several hundred bucks) was probably made in China. Now I'm having more problems with my Ohio made Whirlpool side-by-side. The freezer is working fine, the fridge is not very cold. By the way, the internal lights was one of the keys to the problems.

Whirlpool gold side by side freezer not freezing but fridge is running

Your fan in the freezer is wearing out. When your food in the freezer is blocking the air, the motor is working too hard. After years of using, it needs to be replaced. Get a repair man in to replace with a new parts. My Fridge/Freezer was totally broken and I found this out because the ice was melting. It got fixed and now no problem.
