IPhone Using safari - unexpectedly quits

Every time i use either safari after a few screen selections for websites, the safari quits and returns me back to the main screen. It is now also starting to happen with iPod feature I have tried clearing the cache, cookies and history, but to no avail. Several friends who also have iPhones said it was my typing, but when they tried it did the same thing. Any suggestions would be of great help

I have the new I-phone G3 with the latest 2.1 software release and my phone quits to the main screen from Safary but even worse it does the same when I am composing an e-mail with the mail application (This pretty much impairs me to send e-mails since every time it quits the application it does not remember what I was doing at the time and all the work is lost). THIS IS BAD.

I had the same issue with Safari and iPod quitting unexpectedly back to the Main Screen. I purchased my iPhone a week ago and started to notice this condition after about 4 days. I thought it might be the crystal protective film that I put on the screen. I removed it with no change. I tried to power the iPhone off. See the link and use the "Restart" tab. http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/troubleshooting/phone/#

This seems to have resolved the issue for now? I had a particular website that was crashing with regularity. No issue now. Same with iPod. Could it be that simple?

Hope this helps everyone that is having this issue.

Safari wont open says "safari quit unexpectedly

That crash message indicates an incompatible 3rd party plug-in (CT_plugin) with Safari. Via the Finder, it will be located in either the HD>Library>Internet Plugins or InputManagers or Application Support Folder. If in neither location, look in your User Account>Library - same two folders. When you find it, move it to the desktop, then restart Safari.
