I have a convergence problem it is dipping at the top of the screen. All colors are visible was told it needs the color convergence chip replaced..do you know the part # and where I can order one..Also need a service manuel and sony remote to reset after repair..Can't pay a mint in labor cost. Would appreciate any info you can provide...
The system will not let me post to a link, I wrote: OK first off, as you stated, you will for sure need an original replacement remote for this TV set to make any types of alignments. You may also have a friend relative or maybe a neighbor who may have a remote you could borrow. If not, there is one available here http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=KP46WT510&brand_pn=SONY_KP46WT510&mode=large&uid=11859736726080 Now the convergence IC's, there are two of them that will need to be replaced, the number is STK392-560 You can get the original Sanyo IC's from HERE http://www.mcminone.com/search.asp?keyword=STK392-560&btnSubmit.x=10&btnSubmit.y=8 You will also need to get some heat sink compound and apply to the backs of the new IC's before you install them. Now after all is said and done, before you plug in the set, take a multimeter and check resistors R 8122,and resistor R8127. These two resistors supply the voltage to the IC's. They are 7.5 ohm resistors. The R8122 carries the negative 22 volts and the R8127 brings the positive voltage to the IC's. Next, check the circuit protectors around the IC's also. They are PS8001,8002,8003,8004,8005 and PS8006 and make sure these are not open. These circuit protectors are nothing more then 3.2 amp fuses. I do not have the KP46WT510 service manual, so you will have to go to servicemanuals.net Good Luck

The convergence IC parts used in the Sony is made by Sanyo. There are replacement type STK iC's but like I said these are aftermarket IC's You need the IC's that have Sanyo on them. You will be on the same river without a paddle several months down the road.
If you purchased them from MCM, they are getting as bad as the other parts houses and ripping off the public. Their web site says they are the original Sanyo IC's. But without Sanyo on them, they are cheap after market types of IC's. Go back and tell them they are using false advertising.
i guess if that is all you can get, use them, but just be sure to use a lot of heat sink compound on the backs of the new IC's before installing them.
Not a problem my friend, Good Luck
WoW! Thanks for the tip!

Shortness
Thanks again techman I did go back into the sight and went off. It would have been worse if I had to end up paying to have them replaced in a few months..We will see if they live up to any of it ....I really don't see it happening but hopefully noone else will end up a victim to this nonsense...
just one last note. Something good did come out of my search for everything. If anyone one needs an original remote there is mr.remote on ebay you can buy from store instead of bidding they are the most reasonable I found mine for around 23.99 with free shipping real good service. NEW remotes everyone else wanted from 50 to 71 dollars with shipping. Good luck all
Sorry all. The remote store is awesome remotes not mr.remote. It has been a draining day. Sorry again
Same as "shortness". Need new chip and what cost is for same? Thanks.
