Installation of yahoo messenger won't install

I have the same problem from this post.
I tried several times with the standalone version, but it still stops at 99%, with a GLB.tmp process "eating" almost 50% from CPU. At least once, I let it for hours and nothing happened.
Of course I tried both with executable followed by online installation and with the standalone application as I said before. Several times, between the instalations, I cleared all the traces of yahoo from registry, but the same result. Instalations stop at 99% with that GLB.tmp process eating CPU, which seems to work (something) but never ending.

I have also faced the same problem, in all conventional way I can't install Yahoo Massenger 9....x on my XP-pro service pac-3. last night I saw that my massenger is not responding. I tried to install again and failed to do that in all different way some times it stops to install at 99% some times when standalone installation stops at system configaration step at the last point. I tried even after regedit function, clearing all the yahoo lines.

any resolving suggestion is appreatiated at this end.

But I recommend to you install a standalone version ;
A standalone version is a full complete installation of Yahoo Messenger ,which doesnt connect to internet for further installation of the software.

FOR ALL YAHOO MESSENGER USERS WHO HAVE TROUBLE DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING I HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE ON IT. FIRST OPEN UP INTERNET EXPLORER THEN CLICK ON TOOLS THEN ON INTERNET OPTIONS. THEN CLICK ON THE CONNECTION TAB. THEN CLICK ON LAN SETTINGS. THEN UNCHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS USE A PROXY SERVER BY CLICKING IN IT AND THEN CHECK IN THE BOX THAT SAYS AUTOMATICALLY DETECT SETTINGS. try to install a newer version Windows Installer , allow the yahoo installer on your firewall or temporarily disable your security features and try to install yahoo messenger again.

Installing problem

The installation is not complete. try and re-install it again or yahoo messenger 9.
Follow the directions that appear to proceed with the installation.
Uncheck Make Yahoo! my browser's default search engine
Uncheck Make www.yahoo.com your browser's home page
Click the Next button
Check Yes, I accept the License Agreement terms above, and the Yahoo! Terms of Service.
Click the Next button, and proceed according to the instructions. After re-installation and it still not work, check your Hardware device and setting. if is properly working.

Messenger 9 for Vista users and XP users with 9, Mess 9 has many unsolved problems and missing features that messenger 8.1 or 8.0 has. Plus now the updated Windows Firewall will not let Messenger download correctly.And is causing 9 users to have problems now.. The only option that might help is going to the control panel and turning off the firewall to download and install then turning it back on.Then click on windows fire wall, Exceptions tab. make sure messenger is checked,if not listed then add it to the list.then click save.

You need to remove version 9,or present version, 1st to get another version to work. To remove Messenger version Use Unwise located middle of page of Messenger Folder.Make sure Automatic is checked! then continue to uninstall..Or use control panel ,Vista-program features or XP-add/remove this is the 2nd best way. If you just delete the Yahoo file to remove messenger,you will also lose the shared file that contains things needed on other Yahoo sites. yahoo messenger 9.0 was not loading for me....so i tried to re-install it..tht ddnt work...thn i deleted all the files manually and removed the program... but now wen i install it it stops at 99%..i saw somewhr a suggestion...it helps to reach 100%but again the loading prob.. so in short nothing worked out.. i tried several times to install... it stops at 99%.... YAHOOOOOOOOO plzzz help. i use windows XP.
