If it has any type of video out, you can at least recover any files by hooking up a monitor or TV, depending on the output. But the bad news is, if the screen is cracked, its just about as expensive to fix is it is to buy a new one. Sorry. Hopefully you had a warranty.
Hi, Sad to say that the panel is the most expensive parts on your TV, it will cost you almost the same as a new set. Since it is less than a year, it is still under warranty period however accidental damaged will not covered by the warranty. I would advice you to contact the dealer where you bought the unit and inquire if they can do something on your problem. Cracked screen is not repairable, the only solution is to replaced it with a new one. Jdvillanueva
The set needs a new LCD if it looks cracked and swirly, the colors all run together in the area of the crack don't they! If it is cracked it can't be fixed. you can replace the lcd but I am not sure if a warranty will cover a cracked screen or not. You will need to contact LG and be very nice to them and see if they will honer the warranty on this.
If the screen is cracked, sorry to tell you but you need to replace the entire screen. If it is under warranty contact the manufacturer to find some cost effective options. Replacing the screen may be almost as expensive as buying a whole new TV of the same model.

It can be, but at quite the price. Screens are very expensive and can amount to 2/3rds the price of the TV. In most cases, count the warranty out, if you are still under one, unless you found a manufacturer that covers accidental damage. Do you have house insurance or accident insurance with your credit card company if you used it to buy the TV?
