The headset pairs well enough (ie can see it in connected BT device window) but when I check the playback devices, I can't see it. It's visible under Device Manager and not disabled but just won't switch.
I tried Solution #1 by asenn. For my case it did not work. I recently bought a laptop VAIO VGN-FW26G. I now want to use my bluetooth headphones/headset Motorolla HT820 in making Skype calls and listening to audio played on Windows Media Player.
It was no problem to add the HT820 as a bluetooth device. However, the HT820 does not become visible in "control panel/hardware-sound/manage audio devices. Consequently it is not available to any application, such as for playing audio or Skype.
I removed the bluetooth device and added it again. I turned it on and off. But all to no reveal.
Who can help me further?

It's supposed to be that way. The S9 has been designed to comply with US law that you can only receive telephone calls through one ear while driving - it's a "safety" feature to allow you to hear the road and your surroundings when driving

I had the same problem but instead of a red light it would flash green twice and stay off. I could not find the original charger and another plug in charger would not work. I plugged it into my computer with a usb cable and after several seconds it started charging.

Alesia-
Try a reset: ELITE FLIP Reset to factory default
Try changing setting: MotoSpeak 3 0 Noise Cancellation settings
What device are you connected to? I see other have reported after an android update on NON-Moto Devices: Headset echo problems after Android 4 3 update Verizon Wireless Community
