You can check the clutch in the main cassette to make sure it is turning the feed rollers by barely starting a feed and stopping the machine. The rollers will be in a different position. A second way is to take the paper tray out and trip the paper tray switch all the way in back, then start a feed and put (just a LITTLE pressure) with your finger on the roller to see if is aggresively turns. This will prove that the clutch is good.
DO NOT USE alcohol to clean the rollers since this will clean the rubber rollers but make them fail much sooner. Use eucalyputs oil (4 oz bottle in health food stores for $5 will last for years) with a cloth and clean the rubber pickup rollers. If the leading edge of the rollers looks a little shinny you need to barely roughen the entire surface of the roller up with (60 to 80 grit) sandpaper (especially the leading edge) and then clean it again with the euclyptus oil. This will take about 20 minutes to dry and your rollers will pickup paper as good if not better than when they were new.
If your image if still not complete and is cut off at the end, see if you get the same result by using the manual bypass with a sheet of paper. Also try copying from the ADF if you have one. You can do a copy at 50% and see if the whole image is on the output or if the end is still cut off. If it consistently is cut off at the end by just a little, you can go into diagnostic mode with - Turn on power and within 4 seconds pres clear, exposure mode, clear, exposure mode - adjust "trail edge deletion" enter 50 then print, then enter 1 then print, then press exposure mode until the auto, text, & photo lights are lit, then adjust number shown up to increase, down to decrease. Turn off and back on to test.

SOURCE: Xerox XD100 that is showing a code J2
If this code just came on, you have about 2,000 copies to run before the machine completly will not run.
This machine will run so many copies before it end of lifes the drum unit.
In the old days, these drum units were serviced by the service representative.
Nowdays, the cartridge just runs to the end of life on the cartridge. Most cartridges will run for about 15k with 2k to use to allow the user to order a cartridge.
Even if the cartridge is still good, the cartridge is end of life at the maximum allowed copies on the crum.
If the problem still exists with a new cartridge, the service repair for this is more involved and needs a service manual and someone who knows what they are doing to do the service in diagnostics mode.
I have preformed this many times before.
The NVM settings need to be rechecked and the main board may need to be reset.
Very involved.
Place a Xerox service call to have this repaired.

Sounds like this machine is locked up.
Are the quanity selecton lights on?
Is the fan on at the back.
Did the machine warm up ok and at a ready state?
We cannot see the machine, so we need to have more information as to what else is operating.
