Remove the power to the unit and the bottom access panel. Remove the front bulkhhead where the drum sits on by undoing four screws one for each corner.Verify felt seal on exhaust fan cover is airtight on flange of duct. If seal is installed improperly air flow will be restricted which can cause poor dryer performance.Belt must be positioned around cylinder between center and rear bafflescrews with the ribbed surface against the cylinder. You gotta push up on the spring loaded idler pulley the easily slip on the belt to the motor shaft. make sure that the ribbed part of the belt wraps around the drum and motor shaft and not kinked.

I replaced the belt on my dryer and the tub turns, but I put clothes in the dryer it won't turn. I looked under the dryer and the belt has some slack in it. Is it my pulley or is my motor malfunctioning?

How to replace a belt on my dryer, my old one broke so i am trying to replace a new belt to the drum but am finding i have alot of slack

you don't have it around the idler pulley next to the motor,if its routed the correct way you will need to pull up on this pulley to get it over the motor pulley, then when you release pressure on this idler the belt will be taught then

Pull out the filter from the top and get those screws out that attach the filters housing to the top. Then get a putty knife and release this spring clips holding down the top. Then get the 2 screws off from inside and raise up an inch to release the panel clips.

How to install drum belt in Amana Model LED20AW. This model does not have front or back panels to remove. Fabio

Pull the front panel off, remove the top screws and tilt top back. Rout the new belt around drum at the old wear spot with the grooved side against the drum. Next remove the back access door and rout the belt around the idler pulley and motor pulley. There is only one way to do this and get proper tension on the belt.
Also, when you order the belt, ask if it has a belt routing diagram on the belt package.

The belt needs to be above the metal. Otherwise the repair looks good. Easy fix. Thanks for the pic.

New Dryer Belt

The switch on motor is sticking or broke. You can try cleaning lint from motor and around switch. (Box with wires going to it on motor.) If this doesn't work you probably need a motor.l

when you say "only one pulley...", are you counting the motor as one? there should also be a tensioner pulley...look for it somewhere near the motor.
