Hi, I really need some help. My razr has what looks like water in the front screen. The backlight will not show, and I can't use most of the buttons. However, I have no idea how water could have gotten inside of it. I checked the water tag in the back and it shows that water has been there... =/ any solutions besides getting a new phone? (any home repair possibilities)?
I've jumped into my pool unaware my razr was in my pocket and although I ended up getting a new phone in a few weeks(phone was crushed at work), I was able to salvage my razr from the pool by doing this: You will need a T6 and T5 screwdriver to take the razr apart. (Don't try to do this without the right tools or it will take forever). Take a large cookie tray or other large tray that will fit the pieces into. Take apart the covering and remove the innards. With a soft cloth or paper towel, wipe the innards dry. After all parts have been wiped dry, take a hairdryer and gently blow on the parts (it really helps if your blowdryer has a "cold blow" setting) and make sure that you keep the dryer as far away as possible without the loss of airflow. (All you are trying to do is evaporate any small particles of water that you may not see). After blowdrying, I wiped the circuit board with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol on some items that had water stains and waited a day for it to dry in the tray. After a day of drying in the tray, I placed all the items back together and my razr worked as good as new. Here is also the official repair manual that techs use to repair the razr. It will shed some light on details: http://www.hackthev3.com/pdf/Technical_Support_Group_V3.pdf
