In the year 2000 i took some videos of my new born baby at the time i didnt own a camcorder so a friend of mine lent me a sony hi8 type to shoot
some videos in total i managed to record around 8 of them and since then
they have been in their own case becouse my friend sold his camcorder
so becouse of this i decided to buy the above model" ccd tvr208e" in order to play them again now the problem im having when i insert the cassette in the camcorder i dont get any images ie on the display itself
or tv im only getting a crackling noise like if it was the tracking but no lines to be seen anywhere only a blue screen my only fear is that over the years the cassette the migth have lost the quality bear in mind this tapes they only been played once at most and i know no one has handled them becouse i keep them in safe place unfotunatley there was no manual with camcorder so i hope with your expirence you could help me many thanks and hoping to hear from you soon regards

CCD-TRV208E is analog Sony Handycam and I think tape was recorder on Digital Handycam.
Digital handyacam model starts with letters DCR-xxx so locate a digital handycam to get tape recordings.
I got this idea when you said, only getting crackling noise and blue screen.
