Both the Sony Handycam DCR-TRV350 and the Sony Cybershot camera use the SPVD-010 usb driver version 1.5 image mixer cd for winxp. Using the usb cable the computer recognizes the camera but not the handcam.

    Any suggestions other than firewire?

    Thanks

Buy a PCMCIA firewire card for your laptop, insert it into the laptop in datacard slot, then connect your camera to laptop through the DV port, and slot on card thorough the cable which comes with firewire card, this will solve your problem

A firewire cable will probably work better than a usb connection ( assuming your laptop has a firewire connector ) for video editing ;

I NEED TO DOWNLOAD A FOOTAGE OF MY FAMILY INTO MY LAP TOP. UNFORTUNATELY AFTER REFORMAT MY LAP TOP TO CLEAN VIRUS , NOW I CAN'T FIND THE DRIVER FOR MY COMCORDER PANASONIC NV-GS50EN. PLEASE HELP ME.

Even if you have no driver, you can still download the video from your camera to your computer. Just plug in the usb cable from the camera to the computer. Then once the computer recognized the camcorder, just RIGHT click on your windows START button and choose to open Windows Explorer or choose Explore. Then on the left panel, under My Computer or Computer, look for the drive letter associated with your camera. Click for it then it will show you the contents on the right. Find for the folder containing the videos and copy them to your local drive.

I need to download video from DCR-TRV33 to windows. Cannot find software that is compatible. Plugging in a USB cable from the camera to the computer also isn't recognized.

Since you are using a USB cable to connect the Camcorder to the Computer, it is required to install the USB Driver and the supplied Software to transfer the videos from the Camcorder to the Computer.

The required USB Driver and the ImageMixer Software have to installed from the supplied Software CD.

The detailed information to install the USB Driver and the ImagerMixer Software from the supplied CD is mentioned on the page # 153 to 157.

Click on the link below to view the instructions to transfer the videos from the Camcorder to the Computer using the USB cable.

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C222820

You can also transfer the videos to the Computer using an i.LINK cable.
The i.LINK cable is better than the USB as the former transfers the videos digitally and the latter in analog form. Hence, the video quality is good for the videos transferred using i.LINK.
You will not need any supplied Software to do this.
You need only the i.LINK cable and the video capture Software like Windows Movie Maker(Pre-installed) in Windows Xp Computer.

Click on the link below to view the instructions to transfer the videos using an i.LINK cable.

Camcorder on Computer

The USB cable is to download still images only. To download video, you need (1) a firewire cable, (2) a firewire port on the computer, and (3) a video editing software program used to download and edit the video.

FireWire for camcorder mini dv

Go to this link. Click on "Frequently Asked Questions" and then click on the appropriate link (#4). Basically, once the firewire cable is connected, make sure that the camcorder is in the playback mode, is turned on, and you see "DV IN" on the LCD. If all that is happening, your computer/software should be able to "see" the camcorder and download the video.

MS optical desktop 700

try one of the method below:
Method 1: Try different ports loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); Warning If you have to change a PS/2 connection, shut off the computer, make the changes, and then restart the computer. Do not plug a PS/2 device in the PS/2 port while the computer is running.

To determine whether the problem is related to the ports on the computer, use only the two cables that are included with the wireless desktop receiver, or the single cable that is included with a mouse.
USB keyboard and USB mouse loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation'); If the USB cable is currently connected to a USB hub, disconnect the device from the hub, and then connect it to a USB port on the computer. If your device is already connected to a USB port on the computer, try to connect the device to a different USB port if one is available.

Note Only one USB connection to the computer is required, even if your device has two USB plugs. If the problem persists, disconnect other USB devices and connect only the USB plug from the receiver to a USB port on the computer.
PS/2 devices loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation'); If your devices are connected to PS/2 ports on the computer, verify that you have the following configurations: • Verify that the USB plug for your mouse is connected to the green USB-to-PS/2 adapter and that this adapter is plugged in the mouse PS/2 port on the computer. The mouse PS/2 port on the computer may also be green. If you are not sure which PS/2 port is the mouse PS/2 port, see the documentation that came with the computer. • Verify that the USB plug for the keyboard is connected to the purple USB-to-PS/2 adapter and that this adapter is plugged in the keyboard PS/2 port on the computer. The keyboard PS/2 port on the computer may also be purple. If you are not sure which PS/2 port is the keyboard PS/2 port, see the documentation that came with the computer. If you have to change your configuration, shut off the computer, make the changes, and then restart the computer.
