I am up on a mine site as a tecchnician and I am told the lamp has been replaced with correct type globe. The problem being without a remote control we cant remove the warning message now that we yhave replaced the globe.any ideas?
Hi guys
Firstly you need the remote to reset the lamp timer.
Hold down the left and right scroll buttons on the remote and press menu. That will reset your lamp timer.
I do not have a remote for the VPL-EX1 either and need to reset the lamp timer.
On the unit itself there is no 'reset' button, one a joystick/enter button and a menu button.
I tried pushing both these buttons at once in the hope that it would reset but no luck.
Does anyone have any idea how to reset the lamp timer on this unit *without* the remote?
Thanks in advance, Ben

1.Remove the lamp cover by pushing two grooves lightly with the flathead
screwdriver. You can see the lamp cover on the top of the projector. ( left side of the lens)
2.Loosen the two screws securing the lamp housing until the screwdriver
goes into a freewheeling condition. The two screws are not
removable
3.Remove the lamp housing by pulling out the handle
4.Insert a new lamp housing until the lamp housing is plugged into the
Socket
5.Secure it in place with the two screws.Be sure to tighten the screws.
6.Reattach the lamp cover
7.Snap the lamp cover into place.
Replacing a new lamp automatically clears the lamp usage hours

Hi,
I have the same problem, in getting rid of the replace lamp message and to reset the lamp timer, however i do have the remote but there seem to be no option for that.
