The only way ya can isolate the problem is to try it on another PC, and see if it works there. at least then ya know where the fault is. also try uninstalling any Drivers, and then reinstalling them.. if it isn't detected when You plug it in, I suggest that it has gone faulty. Time for a new one :(

wireless mouse act up, batteries first. is the 1st reason
the 2nd reason is the HP drivers for the mouse are wrong.
the 3rd reason on laptops is you forgot to turn off the mouse pad on the said laptop (control panel, mouse,+ mouse pad off)

HP 2530p EliteBook - touchpad stopped working. Scrolling works except touch scrolling on right side of pad) and right button, but that's all. Wireless mouse works fine.

To access Mouse Properties, select Start - Control Panel - Hardware and Sound -Mouse.

Use Mouse Properties in Windows to customize settings for pointing devices, such as button configuration, click speed, and pointer options.

My touchpad mouse is not working

Whats the Operating System on this Laptop?

I wish to connect an Acer wireless optical mouse to this Acer netbook

Thank you for using FixYa

Yes the wireless mouse will work with the Netbook just plug in the adaptor and give it a try. That was the first thing my wife did with her Netbook was to get a wirless mouse and then I got one for my notebook. I especially like the scroll movement. Actually most generic Mouse will probably work on it too.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.
