Microwave does not heat everything else works but does not heat
Same issues here, power up as usual, everything works except it doesn't
heat. Usually when the magnetron kicks in, you know it because the unit
bogs down from the load, well no bogging here just steady running of
the fan. (Manufactured in 2007), do I detect a class action lawsuit in
the works? I was fortunate enough to have purchased the extended
warranty.
Repair man showed up day one with the most likely
culprits (Magnetron & Diode), replaced them both and no help, there
goes thanksgiving.
2 1/2 weeks later the tech showed up with a couple of (Micro Switches and a Thermostat), replaced those, ho help.
Now
he suspects it the (PWB/PCB Power Control Board), because there isn't
any power coming from the board to the tell the huge transformer to
power up and sent the required voltage to the magnetron.
We will see when that is replaced if I'm back in business.
Just
an FYI folks, if you're going to tinker with this use EXTREME CAUTION,
as the transformer could put out upwards in the range of 4,000 volts,
not to mention what the mag can do to you, so be SMART and be CAREFUL.

- Third time is a charm, the tech replaced the (PWB/PBC) today and we
have a winner. That was the problem, either the Power Control Board
itself or one of the relays on the board. Replacement was free because
it was under extended warranty, but still reasonably affordable at
repairclinic dot com ringing in at about $60. So good luck.
does not cook, heat or defrost
I have the same problem. The microwave appears to be working until you open the door and take out your food. It doesn't heat up at all.
