Hello Jc.Let me start by saying that despite the fact that you have properly been specific with the error code you have submitted, Canon is "fairly" specific in regards to the amount on detail in provides. I say fairly in really loose terms. The error 602 means that for any number of reasons when the copier went to boot" (begin to start up and read its directions as to what it is, who it is, and what it is capable of, it failed to get the instruction set (or failed to recognize the instructions) and therefore said "what"?!) as the copier sought to retrieve this info from the hard drive. That can mean that the partition of the hard drive that is was looking at contained corrupt information, or there was a communication interruption, or that the hard drive is going or gone bad. I know this sounds like a bunch of technical goblidy gook but you don't want to know what the 0101 means after the 602. It may not be too bad but brace yourself for the worst. That is that the hard drive may have went wheels up, or at a minimum all stored custom information is gone. The latter may be the best you can hope for. I am afraid that a "hail Mary" might be to power the copier of by way of the rear switch (or unplug if you are not familliar) and wait a few minutes.Restart and hope for he best. Otherwise you WILL need a technician to replace the hard drive and then they will have to reload the system software. I was reluctant to respond to your request for help as I cannot "fixya" and I will get a bad grade from the guys that run this site since I left ya hangin. But I could not resist trying to help you and to at least make sure you did not get raped by some "hungry for money" company. Please at least give a decent rating and I will keep my fingers crossed for you..................SPINAL

You have a high-voltage leak to the transfer corona. This could be due to several different things, usually it's a dirty corona, maybe excessive dust or toner in the corona assembly. Toner conducts electricity and can leak voltage from the transfer corona to the frame. It may also be the "end-blocks," the thing in the back of the machine into which the transfer corona plugs when you close the drawer and lift up on the green handle. These crack and can cause intermittant failure.
I would start by taking a can of air and thoroughly blowing out the corona assembly and see what that does for you...
