He's right, it is a line, but it's not a big problem. If you keep playing with that wire, eventually that yellow part in your PS will come loose. It took me about 10 min. to fix mine with the same problem, and all I needed was a small philips screwdriver and a soldering iron. I bought my soldering iron for about $16 at Lowe's and it comes with batteries and soldering. First, you need to open your PS: you flip it over, pop those little square plastic covers out (only 6 of them). I used my finger nail to pop them out; now, you'll notice that there's a total of 8 of those square-type things, don't worry about the ones in front corners (right underneath Controller Port 1 and Remote Controller Receiver). Once you do all these you'll find 6 screws, so use your screwdriver to get'em out. Flip your PS over again. Now you'll be able to pop the top cover out, just be careful, it's a little tricky but you'll make it. With the cover out of the way, you can see now the inside of your PS. Try to locate a screw between the two Controller Ports, it'll need to come out. Once you get that screw out of your way, remove the bottom cover carefully; make sure you remove that board thing where the Reset/Power button lays from the cover as well. Now you have a naked PS haha. Flip your PS over locate where the power cable is plugged in (it's like a yellow square-thing). Looking at it from the bottom, try to put some presure on it with your finger and try to move just a little bit and you'll notice that one of the solderings holding the yellow thing together to the green board is cracked loose (if not both). So now it's time to get that soldering iron to work. If I recall, it'll take about 30 to 45 sec. for soldering iron to get to it's working temperature. Once it's ready to work put presure again with your finger to that yellow part and try to solder bond that cracked soldering back together. I did it by heating the soldering touching the green board so it'd hold the yellow part in place. I'm sure you'll do good, just be pacient. Use your finger again to try moving it. Once it doesn't move anymore IT'S DONE. Just get those covers back together, first the bottom one, then the screw between the Controller Ports, and last the top cover with the 6 screws and covers. Hopefully this will work for you as it worked for me.

Ps2 slimline wont stay on red light goes on then off

The problem is most commonly the ac power cord. I have a PS2 slimline and I had a power cord that fit into the slot and was completly similar to the original cord ,but you may need to order a new cord to solve your red light situation.

The same problem occured to my slimline ps2. I opened it to find that the power switch inside had broken of. The only option is to get the switch soldiered back on or replace the tiny circuit board that has the switch.

PS2 wont play games

call sony tech support
A few things could have happen. Your system could have been dropped, kicked around, or smack one way or another. Causing a wire to become loose, or knocked off where it should be. Your power supply also could be warn out, or some way, lost power. Your best bet is to call 1-800-345-SONY. Tell them what is going on. They will then work with you to try and get your system working. If you can't fix it over the phone, and your PS2 is still under warranty, then they will take the system in, and fix it for you. If your PS2 isn't under waranty, then still call them. They will still work with you, and they will take in your PS2 for a fix. Sometimes it won't even cost you anything, and other times, it might be a small fee. Just give them a call, that is your best bet!
