The lightening may of caused a surge and your unit may have it's own protector that resets and comes back on after a time frame programed into it.

Your surge protector may do it too.

There is a reset button, (on the cord I think) which must be unplugged before pressing. Failing that, there is a fuse which may need to be replaced. If the reset doesn't do it, call 866-MAYTAG1 and they'll get you going from there.

Wall ac in off position plug in surge protector blows instantly

It may be possible the it has fried the surge protected internally causing it to short out or blow when plugging in. I would try using another surge protected if you have one or if possible replace the cord going to the unit with a new one and see what happens. Also possible that the outlet your using went bad during the storm as well. Don't know 100% but should be a couple tips to help get you going.

Hi there!
One of reasons your tv not working, the thunder storm /lighting possibility has burnt your Tv micro processor. get a technician to check the power supply section too because during the thunder storm your TV circuitry received excessive voltage .
If is the main processor is burnt you have to change it for the TV to work .

Does my maytag frig have a reset button in case of a power surger during a storm?

No, consider central whole house surge protection. For a few hundred you protect your whole home and probably will save that much on individual protectors over the years.
Good luck,

Re: Kenmore Plasmaire air conditioner; suddenly stopped working during night. Motor will initially turn on but no air coming through, then will stop

Most likely you have a bad fan,did you have a storm or lighting strike or power drop / outage .
These type of things can cause trouble with a weak electrical part - not know the age of the Unit - you claim it happen in the middle of the night - if the fan Humms and cut outit could be a cap. that helps you fan start - but the fan is damaged if it tryed to start time and time again . Call service if the unit is worth it .

My maytag m7y12f2a stopped working is their any reset buttons

All devices that have circuit boards or digital displays need a surge protector or turn off during storms. If none of the functions or dispays don't come up, there may be an inline fuse on the panel. More than likely the board or transformer is fried. For that you need a Tech.

Computer power won't turn on

First thing to do is try to plug the pc in another wall socket to see if it goes on, If not, the MB could have gotten fried, even though the other plugs seem to work. Hopfully you just need another surge protector as that could have gotten damaged.
