Ok i tried to startup my pc and it wont stay on the power cord is working fine and i even tried to start on safe mode i get nothing even tried a reformat but pc wouldnt stay on long enough to finish what do i do????
The first thing to do is eliminate the external power supply, the DC jack and the socket on the laptop that it plugs into. My experience has been that damaged jacks are far more common than damaged sockets. Usually what happens is that someone trips over the power cord and puts strain on the cable where it attaches to the jack. A quick test is to plug the DC jack into the laptop and while holding the jack still wiggle the cable where it attaches to the jack. If that doesnt do it try holding the jack and wiggling it in the laptop socket. One or the other should cause a break in the power and youll know what to get fixed or replace. If those are the usual suspects, however, if they all test out OK then let us know what the results were and we?ll pickup from there. Any additional information will be helpful such as LEDs, how long it takes to shut down and any issues that may have led up to this.
