THE KEYS LIGHT UP BUT THE SCREEN REMAINS BLANK AND SOMETIMES FREQUENT BEEPS SOUND. I TRIED REMOVING THE BATTERY AND REINSTALLING, REMOVING THE SIM CARD, CHARGING IT BUT NOTHING WORKS. Have you tried Motorola Phone Tools? Worked for me. Downloaded it from Motorola's website. You will need a usb cable or bluetooth to send info to your computer. Also, make sure you have the right version of MPT for that phone.
You need flashing your phone. Power off your phone. Press * and # at the same time and power on your phone while pressing those keys. It supposed to show your phone information. If it shows, notice the phone software version. Search on google and download that version flash file. For flashing you need RSD Lite or Flash&Backup software. Search on google also for these. Additionally, an USB cable is needed to flash the phone.
Oh my gosh!!!! It worked!!! It really worked! I had my phone in the back pocket of my jeans when I went outside in a heavy rainstorm to get to my car. When I got to school (I'm a teacher) I realized my phone wouldn't work...except for the power button. None of the other buttons worked at all...AND...GULP....the water indicator sticker inside was red. I got my second graders busy, then looked on here for some help on what to do. I read the comment about how the person laughed, but banged the phone on her knee after reading about banging the phone....not thinking it would work...and it DID! I'm SO happy!!!! Thank you
Try the phone while plugged in and see what happens. If it works fine then it's probably the battery or the contacts to the battery. I've had a problem with my razr that's similar to this. My razr is on the keys light up when i press something but the screen is completely blank open and closed and all the buttons work. Best thing to try is leave out with battery and sim card out and it might start working again. However if it is only 2 months old it should still be covered under warranty.
