If you or a firend can desolder the one CPU coard from the power board then solder the new one in, you can order part # DPWBFC167WRKZ from Encompass (formerly Tritronics) for $107.07 plus shipping.

Otherwise, we regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week with a one-year guarantee.

We have full details, plus critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site. You'll find a link to our site in our listing here on FixYa.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

The display on our Sharp Microwave oven went very dim. Everything else on it is still functioning perfectly. Will replacing part FPNLCB666WRKZ fix it? Is this something we can safely do ourselves?

not familiar with that exact model .if the display went gradually dim and has a green vacuum florescent display ,these suffer 3 problems ,worn out display ;glass on display and filter window dirty ;and failed capacitors, suggest before replacing module ,unplug and put plug iside door ,then safely remove the back then take photo of display panel wireing then remove it clean inside the plastic eindow of display and display tube glass window .visual look at pcb you will see several round blue capacitors .note the values and voltage of these i.e 470u/25v. go to maplin and obtain replacements ,yhen get a friend who can solder to replace them all making sure to mark pcb with black marker ajacent black negative line on capacitors to ensure correct polarity then refit pannel and test .if no improcement replace complete panell

How do I get the cover off my Samsung over the stove microwave? Do I have to take it off the brackets?

It likely depends on the model. To access the circuit board behind the numeric display, do the following. On the SMH9187ST model (and probalby most models that have the numeric display to the right of the door), you remove the top vent guard that runs across the top front of the microwave. There are 2 screws holding it in. Open the door and then slide the panel 1/2" one direction then it will lift off. Remove the center and right screws on the bottom of the cabinet, directly under the door. Remove the single screw at the top of the numeric display and the display and circuit board will lift free of the cabinet. The connecting wires can each be removed as there is only place they will each attach to when it's time to reconnect. Some are color-coded, others have unique connectors.

Samsung microwaves seem to have a high occurrence of the SE error code. This happens when the edge connector on the ribbon cable gets oxidized from steam that enters the cabinet through the seam at the numeric display and the cabinet itself. You can often remove and clean the edge connector with alcohol and buy some time but it will happen again. Replacing the circuit board is the next step after the cleanings stop working. Places like partsimple.com stock both the display and the board.

Digital display of Bauknecht MCG 1731 micro-wave isn't readable in daylight.

If the microwave is workingg fine otherwise , then you can remove the display panel and see if there is dirt or insects that have clogged the display. Use a hair dryer to slighly warm the panel , check the voltage to the display panel from the main board and processor. If there is no issues here then it is possible that the display is weak and needs a replacement

Hi our Sahrp Carousel microwave LCD panle display is not working

You have to replace the control board. Sharp has had problems with the display boards for awhile. There is no bulb or fuse you can change.

Display not workign

Sadly, the display tube is not available separately, so the only way to fix this is to replace the board, at a whopping $181.48!

One trick that helps is to remove the control panel assembly, take the circuit board out of the frame and very carefully wipe the front of the glass and the rear surface of the control panel frame's display window.

Use a soft cloth with alcohol-based (non-ammonia) window cleaner.

That will brighten it up quite a bit.

At our site, we now have a video available showing how to remove a typical control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Be sure to unplug the oven before you do any disassembly.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

LCD display missing part of numerals

Yes, we repair these displays for $32.50 with a one-year guarantee. Repair Clinic charges $169.35 for the display board assembly. Tritronics (our supplier) sells the assembly with display (part # DPWBFC167WRKZ) for $107.07. On the rare occasions when we actually replace that type of board for our customer (at our cost of only $73.33) we also perform our proprietary fixes on it. We do that so the new display does not also fail in a few months, or even right out of the box! That actually happens!
