Question about Panasonic PT-56LCX66 56" HDTV

Vertical lines and big red spot on Panasonic PT-56LCX66

I just purchased a Panasonic PT-56LCX66 56" LCD projection TV. When I turn it on, I get vertical white lines going accross the whole screen and a big red spot in the center. This will all dissapear after about 2 minutes but I don't feel that this is normal. i would like to know if this is common in the beginning or if I should return it. Its such a large TV that I would hope that this is just a burn in issue that will fix itself but Panasonic said that this was not common. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Return it my friend, it sounds like a problem on the display panel driver board, and boy is that expensive to replace! Good Luck

Spots all over the tv panasonic pt-61lcx65

If they are large colored circles behind the picture scenes, mine had it too. Fix was as simple as service technician plugging into the EPROM and loading a software update. Picture then was better than day1.

MODEL # PT-52LCX15. GREEN AND BLUE SPOT ON SCREEN.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. You can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/PANASONIC-521A2C52-p/1177904.htm Have a blessed one!

Can't power up

The buzzing noise you are hearing is most likely the ballast fire, this is good. You most likely have a bad lamp which is the best case for you. I would recommend pulling the lamp out and looking at it to see if its physically shattered or not.

The instructions for pulling the lamp can be found in your owners manual. If you do not have this anymore just look on the sides or the back of the tv for a small door with a screw or 2 in it. take those screws out and the door should come off, then take the screw(s) out of the lamp and pull it out. if you see glass rolling around inside you will need a new lamp. Let me know and I will help you find a good one at a good price.

Vertical green lines

Call where you bought the TV. This is not normal for an LCD TV. They should exchange it only being a week old.

Red spot on HDTV

This is a LCD projection TV and will need to have the light engine replaced. Hopefully you have a warranty on it or it is still covered by Panasonic.
