Question about NetTV PDP42V Television
My HPT-4241 plasma has sound, but no picture (just faint flickering).
I can't see any picture (only faint flickering noise full of screen)
When I change the A/V selection (not physical cables, but only using A/V selection button at the bottom of the screen), the flickering noise is shown only on the left side of the screen as several-inch vertical lines.
Strange thing is that the sound is heard only when video line is connected, although no video is shown correctly. I fixed the audio cables at Component input 1 and tried different video connections (s-video, and component 1)
On the control board one LED is blinking (left one), All others stay on.
Can any one give me some advice?
SOURCE: No sound or Picture, Just a hissing sound.
well what sounds like happened is you blew up the tube in it. have you unplugged it from the wall and just let it sit some times that helps because what will happen is there will be a Electrical build up and it won't work right. an other thing you might want to do is hit the Degauss button on the remote. plug some sort of video signal into it and go through the inputs to see if that helps, mine did that every thing would just be black but i plug in my video camera it would detect it and make sure that the audio cables are plugged in these TV might just be that old that they have to have both audio and video in order to work.

When I opened the back, a small buzzing sound comes from power board (USP490M-42LP Rev.B)
Little progress in spotting the problem.
I found IC8 on the bottom Y drive board (6870AFE011A) was burnt. So first I remove the whole bottom Y drive, The picture was shown on the half of the screen, but it is really faint.
Then I removed the IC8 from the board and put the board back in.
Whole screen except a couple of inches from the bottom was shown. But it is still faint. Definitely the bottom Y drive was bad.
I may buy IC8 (SN755866) which has about 100 leads and try to solder it.
However I still need make the screen bright.
Can any one help me?
