Philips remote doesnt work - Philips 42PFL5603D - 42 IN. LCD HDTV

Philips TV model 34PW9815 the LED on the front of the unit turns green when first plugged into electrical outlet, and then immediately starts to flash red. nothing on the unit works and it doesnt respond to controls either on the set or the remote

You could do a code search which will go through about 300 different codes until it finds one that works with your TV.

Try replacing batteries. If that doesnt work try aiming directly at Receiver's sensor. If all the other functions work except the menu see if you can access menu directly from the unit itself. If it works then you might need to replace the remote

Not all Philips TVs use the same remote codes.
It is very unlikely that the TV remote receiver is the problem (trust me).
Is this the original remote for that set?
If not, try program it as a universal with the other Philips codes or get a universal remote and do the same.

One more 'lost code list' person. I have a philips SRU 2040/17 universal remote and a sanyo tv. 'code seach' doesnt work, i need the actual 3 or 4 digit code. HELP! my kid wants to watch cartoons and i cant turn the tv from video back to cable.
