I have a brand new HP 19" monitor which I have connected to my Dell PC. I have a newish graphics card, Nvidia 6600. The new monitor works fine in normal mode, running desktop applications or using the Web. When you run a game as soon as full screen mode kicks in the screen goes blank. Connected to old monitor and it works fine. I have downloaded all latest drivers for monitor and graphics catd but to no avail. Have tried different screen resoloutions but this doesn't work either. HELP!
Hi, I read this somewhere (can't recall the site). Go to your desktop properties (right click on any clear area of your desktop); Settings tab; Advanced button; Troubleshoot Tab; Uncheck Enable Write combining; Reboot your PC. If this does not fix the problem, you can always revert back. Hope this be of some help. Good luck and kind regards.

It may be worth going to the game makers web site and see if there are any patches regarding your make of your graphics card. It may also be the fact that the game resolution does not match the screen resolution, try changing it in the game settings if it's possible for you to do so, as the monitor seems to be struggling with the change of resolution as you start up the game.

This happens with all games that run in full screen mode. I have run a direct draw test and it blanks out in full screen mode on this test. Thanks for the solutions, I will give them both a try.
