Check the source of power to your computer. Your computer should be plugged into a protection strip. Make sure that the protection strip reset button is reset. If that is ok, check the circuit breakers in the fuse box.

Shut off won't turn back on

how long have you waited since it shut off? it may be overheating. if you've waited for a while and it still won't power up, you may need to test the power supply. if you don't have a power supply tester and most people don't you can remove it from the case and take it to any pc shop. they may charge you a couple bucks but most shops won't do that. if it's bad it will need replaced obviously, if it's not let us know :)

Pixma ip1600 won't turn on. No power cord just a cord from printer to computer. I unpluged the entire system and waited 15 minutes and it still won't power up. Any suggestions?

You need the power cord which has a polarized plug on one end. The other end (a figure 8 like shape) will fit into the printer. See http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/7/0900005347/01/ip1600esi_us.pdf . Amazon and other sites have replacement power cords for Canon inkjets and inkjet multifunction printers. One source: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-ip1600-ip6600d-ip6700d-Printer/dp/B003XT2LKC .

I hope this helps.

Toshiba Satellite C655-S5082. Won't power on. Worked fine last night. Today it won't turn on. Plug it it and no power light. With power cord plugged in when I push the power button the light for...

Hi.

Take out the AC power jack and then remove the laptop battery. Plug AC power back in and see if the laptop will turn on. If it turns on let it boot the operating system and then shut down as normal, remove the power cord and reinsert the battery and again see if it will switch on. If it does then there has been a glitch with the battery. If it doesn't then there is a problem with the battery.

If the laptop won't switch on either with or without the battery then there is a possibility that the motherboard has developed a problem.

Good luck.

My computer won't turn on and when I plug it in the charging light won't come on

Please check the adpter output voltage with multimeter in DC mode.
If output voltage is good then check any contact problem of the power jack with laptop dc jack for proper contact.

Try to power on with only ac power supply by removing the battery.

ALIENWARE DESKTOP LOST ALL POWER

In a laptop, you can lose power in three ways.
1. Dead battery 2. Dead Power cord. 3. Bad motherboard.
ther first two should be rather obvious, as the battery won't work or it won't hold a charge, but if it won't turn on at all, even while plugged in, chances are that you're going to need a new motheboard. This can be expensive in the M--x laptops, unfortunately.
Sorry for the bad news, mate.

My compaq presario cq60 won,t turn on. the power light next to the charger cable is on but it won,t turn on

Hello,

The charger is functioning well. There are still two possible reasons why your computer is not turning on. 1. The battery, 2. The computer itself.

What you need to do is to isolate the problem.

Here's what you can do to isolate the problem.

1. Remove the battery from the computer.
2. Turn on the computer using the cord. Remember not to put back the battery yet. Just the cable and the computer connected. If the computer turns on, then, you need to replace the battery.
3. If it still not turning on by using the cord alone. Try to wiggle the cord to check whether it's loose or not. Check if there are some signs of power on the computer. If there is a power like lights lit in the computer, then, it's the computer that's having the problem. You need to bring it to a technician if that's the situation.

Please let me know if there are any development after doing the troubleshooting above so that I can get back to you if you need my help.
