Plugged my phone into the charger and screen went black with message that says:
Bootblock Version u540:ZL12.1
Won't shut off....none of the keys work. Phone is HOT.

Sounds like you have a defective battery. If you can use the phone normally with the charger plugged into it that is more than likely the problem. Step one is order a new battery. If that don't solve the problem take it into the store, but only if it's under warranty, otherwise shop for a new one.
I did not care for this answer yesterday when it was given to me. However, it has gotten to the point where you should speak to a Samsung representative. The phone # is 888-987-4357. He/she can probably help you on the phone but if you do have to go into a location, at least you will know
