I have a Bravetti Pro (model F1400B), all stainless steel deep fryer bought approximately 4 months ago. Firstly I noticed the power cord is very difficult to keep connected. I since learned it is supposed to be magnetic??? If this is true, mine doesn't have much magnetism. But, the real issue is the extreme safety hazard mine poses. From the get-go I noticed every now and then the oil would actually errupt inside the fryer. These weren't major, but, none-the-less, a tad scary. It so happens that recently I was whipping up a mean batch of fries and was standing approximately 2 - 3 feet from the active fryer slicing potatoes. Without warning the oil errupted again, but this time not the minor erruptions I had become accustomed to. This time the lid literally blew off the fryer, rose approx. 2 feet into the air and landed on my left leg. I was wearing shorts around the house as I often do. O course, the scalding oil came with it and instantly I had a leg bared of quite a lot of skin. Thankfully my daughter is in nursing and was able to attend to it for me. But it caused me significant pain for a few days. I simply refuse to use this fryer again. I tried to take it back but we have lost our receipt so we are out of luck. I would actually like to contact the manufacturer but no one seems to be able to provide me with that info. Anyway, that is my unpleasant experience. Has anyone else had this problem with this particular model?
It sounds like a water pocket in something opened up. Food that is already cooking won't erupt grease unless there is a sudden addition of moisture. The unit should be safe to use. Just make sure you wick the moisture off things before you fry them. It would be shameful to stop eating fried foods, they're the best tasting type of food.

In regards to the chip fryer exploding the oil, it has nothing to do with any water pockets, yesterday the same model fryer errupted in my brother-in-laws face and was burned from his upper lip to his forehead, this is a very big problem with this model fryer, i would love to know who the manufacturer is as they definately need to address this problem, this fryer was practically brand new only bought about a year ago and only used about 4 times, if you have found out who the manufacturer is would love to hear back from you, tks
