I have a little girl who constantly opens up the disc changer and puts discs in and spins the changer with her hand. I do not allow this but she is very sneaky. For some reason the disc changer will know longer open up when the open/close button is pushed. I have taken it apart and looked inside and found nothing that seemed out of place. Help.

Re: Disc changer won't open
Sometimes the timing cam that is just below the tray, it is a plastic bar with teeth along its edge will get out of sync with the tray, draw it to the opossite end and put the player back together and the players tray assembly will re sync itself...i hope this helps you

Here is the process for troubleshooting this specific issue:
First remove your disc from the tray. I assume you have already done this.
Ensure your faceplate (the front of your system) is on correctly. Sometimes these can become loose and off kilter. Press the two edges firmly with your hands and "push" it into place.
Push the eject button. Although it hasn't worked in the past, adjusting the faceplate may correct the issue.
If that doesn't work, move the disc tray drive gently from left to right when it is open. Again, be gentle-- what we're trying to do here is slightly adjust the disc tray in case it isn't entering your system properly.
Still not working? Time to send it to Microsoft for repair. You can find all of that information on their official support site. Click here for more details.
You have to open the unit with screws in the back and push it out by hand, there should be a series of gears that you have to spin for the tray to come out. You may be able to gently push it by hand to come out.
This unit, if it has been moved recently, could have had the laser lens fall out. If thats not the case, open the unit and clean the lens, and while it is open insert a disc and see if the disc spins up to full speed, as the spindle motor is very popular to go bad in these units. Good Luck
