SOME all in one printer SCANNERS like Brother and others can HAVE AN AUTOMATIC PAPER INTAKE on top of te device ( copy device )and if on the left side of the glass plate under the copy unit is a narrow glass strip to find that needs to be cleaned if there is a little spot of dirth on it then it will give a stripe on the same part after every copying session on all papers a small point can be very difficult to see, but if the small glass stripe is cleaned the problem is solved. Clear black vertical lines on copies scans or faxes MFC9460CDN MFC9560CDW...
pull your drum unit out and look at the top of it. you will see a blue plastic tab. that tab has got to be all the way on the left side. if not, it will cause a black stripe about 3/4" wide.
just copy a paper if copy is black ur scanner is dirty or dead .first clean scanner with tissue other wise change it.if copy is ok result not black that is due to telephone line.by mian jee
Ramana is the black stripe just showing up on copies or faxes or does the stripe occur when you are printing from your computer. If the stripe only occurs when copying or faxing then more than likely the scanner glass is dirty. White out liquid on the scanner glass is a common. If it happens when printing fromyour pc, the problem will be in the toner cartridge or the fusing assembly.
Change the cartridge first to see if it goes away. Check the scanner glass, especially the small glass strip on the left side of the scanner or the right side where you place the original paper. These areas should be completely clear and clean of any scratches or smudges.
Last is the fusing assembly. If you tried everything else and theline continues to bother you, the fusing assembly sleve is probably torn. This would have to be replaced. The part number is RM1-0865-040CN.
Check carefully the glass, a very small point of ink or anything else can cause the black stripe. usually it is that the problem. use windex to clean it.
