My daughter's LG5300 phone suddenly being able to turn on. We have tried a different battery. Still the same. It comes up with the Verizon log and a white background. After awhile it shuts back off. I have tried a few of the posted items, such as taking the battery out and leaving it out for a period of time and still the same. I have tried the freezer idea. It seems to have happened after going through security at the airport. Someone mentioned that these problems can be software related. Could the scanner at the airport have scrambled the software? Is there a way to force the software back to it's original state or reload the software. I have a cable that connects to the phone for ringtone, contacts, calendar transfer so I have the ability to reload if that is possible without it being turned on.

Yes the scanners could have messed up software on the phone. you can have it reinstalled by a process called flashing. Your local accessory store should have someone who can do this for you or at least know where you can find one. If you want to try yourself go to www.humpa.com/vzw/
find your phone and download the software.
Then buy a program to flash it on your phone

you can take the battery and the back off the device and place in completely submerged in a bag of white rice and leave it in there for 1 to 2 days this will help absorb the moisture, this should fix it if the water did not damage the circut boards if the water damaged the circut boards then the device is fried
If you're with Verizon, you can simply dial *228, and choose option 1 when prompted. If *228 does not work, contact Verizon Wireless Customer Service from a different phone besides your cell phone at (800) 922-0204 and they can assist you with manually programming your handset.
Take a tiny screw driver or something like it and with it short out pins in the connection port on the left. The phone should then turn off. I had to do this a number of times and finally got car kit to turn off. Hope this works for you it did for me!
yes it is. you can set up a blocking number or numbers by simply holding # on the phone and entering each number you want blocked. seperateing each number by pressing ok. you can also call the verizon store for more info but that should work.
turn on your hands free device. find "connectivity" in settings on your phone. then "bluetooth link". then "hands-free". turn on bluetooth. look for devices. pair from there.
