Question about Samsung SGH-X495 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Phone turns off spontaneously

My phone is 18 mos old, the battery is 6 mos old, have never had a problem with it. Since this morning it has been turning itself off without me touching it. This has happened 4-5 times since I woke up today; the battery meter is reading as full (as it should since I charged it overnight). I turn the phone back on as soon as I notice it has died, and everything seems to be fine..until 30-40 minutes later. What could be causing this? Thank you.

Hi, I tried this in mid-August and it worked for about a month. Now it is doing the same thing as before. I will reach into my pocket or purse and find my phone has been off for God knows how long. Any other tips? Thank you.

There is a multitude of problems that could be causing this. first of course try the master reset and master clear functions on your phone. if you don't know how to do this in your settings menu try *2767*3855#. If this doesn't help try a new battery. If this still doesn't fix it reply to this with what happened with the above and I'll help further

Phone keeps shutting down spontaneously

There are two thing you can try:

1. Shut it down, remove the battery and replace it again.

2. Back up all your data and restore it to factory settings.

It is possible an app is make it hang, that's why the factory reset might work.

Activation of my lg220c phone is giving me problems

you are f'ed. sounds like the phone will have to be reset. my was 6 months old and all of a sudden the screen read "service disabled." what sucked was it was 9:00 at night and their customer service was closed for the evening. i called the next morning. talked to some indian who gave me a series of 18 numbers to enter in the code entry mode box. after pressing ok, the phone re-booted and was fine.

Reverse won't work in morning till car has been warmed

Price seems normal for rebuilding and installing. Probably not worth trying to get a used unit for an 18 year old vehicle. You may want to try an additive that would help the seals inside to expand up some but its just a band aid fix. I am afraid you are going to have to bite the bullet and get a new one.
