V-800 trouble I have a VX-800U and when I programmed it, it took the new info, it will transmit but no audio is transmitted, and no audio is received. It will key up,and will stop scanning when traffic is received Any Ideas?

  • Jeffrey Elrick Jul 31, 2007

Thanks for all your help, I figured it out. FYI, The radios have an encription board in them. Unless you check the box that says Encr, you get no audio and transmit no audio. you must check the box for All programmed channels.
    Thanks again Jeff

I agree with everone here..... check that your not programmed for tones. If you programmed the rx freq right but programmed in a tone... you won't hear a thing until the txing radio has that same tone. I can't remember the exact programming for this radio...... but if you can add in a squelch off/on or monitor on/off button try that. If your sure the txing radio is on freq. and your sure the radio is programmed to rx that freq... then hit the squelch on/off button so you can hear everything. This will temp. disable the tone squelch if you happened to programm it that way. Also check your squelch programming... again I can't remember this radio exactly but its possible the squelch could be set too high if its programmable. It most likly won't help you out too much.... but good luck anyways Take care

Will transmit but will not receive

I have programmed hundreds of these. The radio may be receiving, but the speaker may be muted. If using a hand mic, have the mic "off hook" or ungrounded and try again. Does the front light flash while the radio is receiving? This indicates the radio is "hearing", just not passing the audio to the speaker. Is there something plugged into the audio jack in the back? Let me know. In 20-30 minutes most shops familiar with Vertex will know exactly what is happening.

Will not transmitt

Are you programming the radio or did you buy it used? In the programming, a radio can be set for receive only. The other possibility is a bad battery. A battery has a huge draw on transmit and may not actually send a signal. Think of it like trying to start a car. I encounter this issue weekly. (poor battery) Post more information if you want me to help you. Such as: do you have the software, is it a fresh battery. How old is the radio. Let me know.

I have two motorola aux4100 radios. I can not get them receive. When I key it up to transmit, the red LED of the transmitting unit comes on and the green LED on the receiving unit comes on but does not...

I would guess you have a PL set on the receive side, and not on the Transmit side. So the audio is being blocked by the PL (as it is supposed to be!) Check your programming, make sure you have the same PL on tx and rx.

None of my programs are receiving midi commands from the FC-300, it's linked into an M-Box II.

I have a FC-200. I don't know by your post what you are trying to do but think of the pedal as a device that can alter a communication between two other devices or one device which transmits info which the pedal receives, alters and then transmits to whatever is on the receiving end. In this case your program. The pedal has to have sysex info transmitted to it or midi info such as a sequence etc. I use mine to control the parameters on my wind syth module. I go from midi out on the module to midi in on the pedal and from midi out on the pedal to midi in on the module. There is also a battery onboard that you might want to check that stores your pedals programmed parameters. Hope this helps.
