Sorry, I miss-understood your problem, the solution I gave was for Alarm Tones, As far as I know there is no way you can save any other tones as a Message tone

Hi buddy!! Samsung sgh-l700 also supports other message tones. But to utilize it you must convert the required tone into MIDI format. You can do this with this software- "MP3 to Ringtone Gold".

Is there a way to change my message alet tone to downloaded tones for the samsung g600

I'm not pretty sure, but I think it may be helpfull to ask a dealer from your network, if the internet works on your phone...if it does, then get a browser, and a link and download...but if you'd ask me, I'd get the tone via bluetooth...from my computer :P

Changing Text Message Tone

it's because the text alerts and alarms etc. all require a different file format than what the presets are...notice the preset tones already on the phone are ".mmf?" well most downloaded/bluetoothed/purchased ringtones are mp3s, not mmfs. i have the same phone..and i am fed up with this stupid problem. i don't know how to convert the file type..sooo i guess we're stuck at stupid.
