Question about Akai LCT2716 27 in. LCD Television
One day my remote control for my tv combo, just stop working. i bought a rca uni control and i didnt work, though it didnt support my tv, went and bought another control and decided to use another tv to test it on and it works. so i am geared to believe that something is wrong with my tv signal.
This model is notorious for ring cracks in the solder joints on the IR sensor inside the television unit itself. The problem seems to come from pressure being applied to the board during installation. I have repaired three this month! It is a simple fix (just have to reheat the solder joints) if you know how to solder. If not, the unit will more than likely have to be serviced by a repair tech. Hope this helps you out.....

By the way, if you are ever in doubt about your remote control itself, use a digital camera to test it ( like the one on a cell phone). If you point the remote at your camera and hit a button on the remote, the infrared signal will show up on your camera screen as visible light. It's a good tester and can save you some $$$!!! Â Good luck..... Â Retro

Try checking to see if the springs for the battery contact have flattened and no longer make contact. Check BOTH the "+" and "-" sides.
